Victoria's $380 million bill for cancelled Commonwealth Games



Victorian taxpayers will put up $380 million in compensation for the Andrews Government's decision to pull out of hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The State Government struck the deal with games organisers after weeks of negotiations but most of the details of the deal will be kept secret. The Premier says the compensation deal is the best outcome for the state, but serious questions remain over the Government's costings.
